Direction - south.

From Pai I went to south, my destination was Koh Tao.
Ride to Chiang Mai was unexpectedly normal. From Chiang Mai I planned to go to Pitsanulok but changed mt mind due to timetables and ended up in Kamphaeng Phet. That is a smaller, definitely off the bitten track town which doesn't reallyt have much to offer in terms of touristic attractions. Appatently has only 1 guesthouse, where except me and a canadian couple were nobody. What was nice is that people were very surprised when saw me, in the night market I was the only foreigner and they all pointed at me, smiled and were nice. I got even escorted to the market by random guy who stopped when for a little moment I was hesitating which turn to take. Every person passing me on the bike was turning around and sometimes waving. But again - they keep distance in that 'staring' and are not pushy at all.
After that town I went all the way to Koh Tao: 6h bus to BKK, 1h taxi ride in a traffic jam, waiting at the bus station, 6h bus ride, 3h waiting for ferry, 2h on a ferry and Im there!!! 10am :)
On the ferry I met my friend Pawel with hisfriends Magda, Gosia and Marcin.
On the way to the island we had an appetizer before divinf course which was seeing flying fishes. It is amazing how far they can fly - I would say even up to few tens of meters.
Our scuba diving course we started the very first day as it was only watching a movie and short introduction.
In that course I actually had classes, that was such a funny feeling!! Next day we went to swimming pool and I must admit it wasn't an easy thing for me to breath under the water, but after all I got used to it and I was fine :)
Next day - again, classes in the morning and scuba diving in the afternoon - this time in the sea already. Wohooo!!! It was so much fun!!! I loved it. Next day when we left in the morning for fun dives which means no excercises under the water, just watching the life down there - I've got so excited that I was joking around, runing, jumping and dancing around the boat, at 7am. Well, at least provided 'wake up' entertainment to others ;)
Generally - I loved being down there!!! It is only few meters under the water when you arrive to other world. Peaceful, relaxed, amazingly colourful and completely different than above the surface. I've seen hundreds of species including turtles, cobias which are not sharks but very similar, shrimps, sea snake, corals, baracudas, different colours of christmas tree worms and more and more and more. I wanna dive more!!! :)
Except diving we celebrated our certificAtion as Open Water Divers, wandered around in those little bays much more calm, peaceful and less crowded, snorkled here and there, had massages and basically just enjoyed our time.
Koh Tao as a place is very nice and pretty but as it became famous you can see it's changing a lot and becomes a resort. At least around Sairee Beach. So if you wanna dive - definitely go there but I would reccommend going there in low season which I'm soooo glad I've done so - unless you expect crazy party every night.
And that would be it. The trip is over. Which I'm very sad about :(((
